UTICA ATTORNEY PHILIP G. FORTINO NAMED CHAIR OF NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION’S YOUNG LAWYERS SECTION

     ALBANY—Philip G. Fortino of Utica (NYCM Insurance) is the new chair of the 2764-member Young Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association.
 
     Fortino received his undergraduate degree form the State University of New York at Brockport and earned his law degree from the Western New England College School of Law.   He is a staff attorney with NYCM Insurance, handling automobile property damage and no-fault defense as well as subrogation matters. Prior to his current position, Fortino was an associate with Franklin A. Josef, Esq.
 
     Active in the State Bar for 10 years, Fortino most recently served as chair-elect of the Young Lawyers Section and chair of its Membership Committee. He also has served as secretary and treasurer of the section.
 
     A frequent lecturer, Fortino also is a member of the Onondaga County Bar Association and former chair of its New Lawyers Section. He also is a member of the Oneida County Bar Association and the Trial Academy of New York.  He is married to OCBA Second Vice President Elizabeth Snyder Fortino.
 
     Founded in 1876, the 77,000-member New York State Bar Association is the official statewide organization of lawyers in New York and the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. The State Bar’s programs and activities have continuously served the public and improved the justice system for more than 130 years.
